ELIMINATION CHAMBER: What Should Happen vs. What Will Happen

Sunday, Feb, 12 2017

Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper

What I Want To Happen: This is a hard call! The fracture in the Wyatt family is creating a great storyline and I want it to continue, but I also want Orton to win. I feel like an Orton win will tip the scales too far though and create a lull for them on the road to Wrestlemania. For once, I’m gonna root against Orton, but only for the greater good. I wouldn’t mind seeing Erik Rowan return to shake this feud up further though.

What I Think Will Happen: I don’t foresee the WWE having Orton come away from the Royal Rumble victorious and then having him lose the following pay-per-view. It should be a great match, but Harper will face defeat.

Natalya vs. Nikki Bella

What I Want To Happen: I have never been a Bella fan and at this point its safe to say I never will be. I would love to see Natalya grab a victory and get the push she deserves. Maybe even a title run since it's been ya know, years since she's held a belt.

What I Think Will Happen: Regardless the opponent, it seems Natalaya is destined to be the 'Dolph Ziggler' of the women's division. On top of that, rumor has it Nikki is on her way out. I don't see her going out on her back. I assume she'll win here and continue on to ride the victory train out of Wrestlemania.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Apollo Crews & Kalisto

What I Want To Happen: I like the dark, frustrated angle Ziggler is portraying. It is, after all, what he should be feeling as he is constantly underutilized! I say it every time, but he deserves a win and an upswing in momentum.

What I Think Will Happen: Kalisto and Crews are throwaway opponents at this point. Ziggler should come out on top, I just don't foresee the WWE going anywhere with it after that though.

Mickie James vs. Becky Lynch

What I Want To Happen: I’m happy to have another woman who can actually wrestle on the Smackdown roster. However, it’s ironic that Mickie James has returned to seek the credit 'she deserves,’ but in doing so is stealing the spotlight and credit another wrestler deserves. I’d like to see Becky come away with a win.

What I Think Will Happen:

American Alpha (C) vs. The Usos vs. The Ascension vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. Breezango vs. The Vaudevillians

What I Want To Happen: The comedy route worked so well for Beauty and the Man Beast, I think Breezango could pull off a short haphazard, but humorous title run. It would be fun to watch, but that being said, would have to be brief to avoid mocking the tag team championship title.

What I Think Will Happen: Smackdown’s tag team division is lacking and doesn’t leave many realistic outcomes. This will go one of two ways: either American Alpha will retain their titles and ride this wave to Wrestlemania or the Usos will win with some shady under handed tactics.

Alexa Bliss (C) vs. Naomi

What I Want To Happen: As much as I hate to say it, Alexa Bliss retaining her title is the best possible outcome. Naomi reads as a cheap gimmick and it’s hard to want to take her seriously.

What I Think Will Happen: The women’s division is small and this match seems to have come about as a lack of opponents. Moving the belt would be lateral at best, Alexa Bliss should pull of a win here, no problem (sans an interference).

Elimination Chamber
John Cena (C) vs. AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. The Miz vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose

What I Want To Happen: I’m sticking to my prediction that Bray Wyatt wins. A win here ensures the Wyatt Family feud can erupt on the biggest stage of them all: Wrestlemania. Besides, its about time Bray Wyatt gets the recognition he deserves.

What I Think Will Happen: Its hard to think Cena would drop the belt so soon after tying Ric Flair’s record, but given his part-time status this is the ideal time for him to do so. Cena drops the belt to Wyatt.

ROYAL RUMBLE: What Should Happen vs. What Will Happen

Sunday, Jan, 29 2017

Rich Swann (C) vs. Neville

What I Want To Happen: Neville has always been a talented athlete, but a boring character. I like his move to the cruiserweight division where it seems more action based than storyline driven. I would like to seem him come out on top in this match.

What I Think Will Happen: As the cruiserweight division continues to grow the theme seems to be a traveling title. It seems the easiest way to keep attention is to keep the belt moving. I anticipate Neville coming away victorious.

Charlotte Flair (C) vs. Bayley

What I Want To Happen: I prefer Sasha Banks to Charlotte, but she is a close second. I would love to see her destroy Bayley, needless to say I’m not about that ‘hug life.’ I would actually just like to see the belt rest on a champion instead of being tossed around like a hot potato.

What I Think Will Happen:
Bayley seems destined to win this one. Ever since her debut she has been a crowd favorite and quickly climbing the ranks. I won’t say she doesn’t deserve it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

Kevin Owens (C) vs. Roman Reigns*
*Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage to prevent any interference

What I Want To Happen: Dear Vince McMahon, you’re the only one who likes Roman Reigns. Like seriously, THE ONLY ONE. That being said, in a perfect world JeriKO retains the Universal Title after obliterating Reigns.

What I Think Will Happen: I have never had the joys of watching an on the pole match unfold so I look forward to seeing exactly how Jericho will escape his shark tank above the ring. I mean lets be honest, we all know he will! Undoubtedly, his interference will cost Owens the title and begin a feud between Owens and Jericho (finishing out Jericho’s storyline before he hits the road with Fozzy). Reigns will become World Champion and the whole WWE Universe will be bored to death AGAIN!

AJ Styles (C) vs. John Cena

What I Want To Happen: This just isn’t even a fair question. I love to hate AJ Styles and a loss for him would be great for me! However, on the flip side if Cena wins, he ties Ric Flair’s record. Unless, the Nature Boy himself comes out and passes the torch, I don’t want to see Flair’s record compromised. That being said, in a dreamworld Flair comes out to interfere and costs Cena his anticipated victory. Long live the Nature Boy! Woo!

What I Think Will Happen:
Do I really need to say it? John Cena wins and ties Ric Flair’s record. Boo!

30 Man Over The Top Rope

What I Want To Happen: With 8 unnanounced entrants and no clear entrance order, its hard to predict an outcome. It would be nice to see them give Ziggler the push (again) since they seem to drop the ball every time he gets any momentum.

What I Think Will Happen: Theres usually a pretty clear winner in mind leading up to The Royal Rumble, but this year I honestly have no clue! Braun Strowman seems to be on the rise, but much to my dismay Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn stand a chance to come out on top. It does seem a fan favorite that Finn Balor makes his return and snatches up his chance to regain the Universal Championship.

SURVIVOR SERIES: What Should Happen vs. What Will Happen

Sunday, Nov, 20 2016

Brian Kendrick (C) vs. Kalisto

What I Want To Happen: I'm pretty sure this has been covered over the last few pay-per-views, but to reiterate: The Wizard of Odd is fantastical and that feeling is only perpetuated by my dislike for Lucha Libres. I don't care how, but Brian Kendrick needs to retain the title.

What I Think Will Happen: With the division being so new and needing the draw it's possible the belt may make the rounds.  A win for Kalisto would keep Kendrick neigh-sayers appeased and give smackdown a chance to build their own cruiserweight division.

The Miz (C) vs. Sami Zayn

What I Want To Happen: I cannot eye-roll hard enough about the Miz snatching this title back up on Tuesday! Good lord WWE, can Ziggler just enjoy being on top for like one minute?!  Aaannnyyywwwaaayyy, I would be happy just to see Ziggler interfere and give The Miz a taste of his own medicine.

What I Think Will Happen: As agitated as I am with him regaining the title, the Miz will be a far more entertaining champion than Sami Zayn. Zayn is just a throw away for me. He is an able wrestler but so unmemorable. With the help of Maryse and The Spirit Squad, the Miz will stay champ.

The New Day, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Cesaro & Sheamus and The Shining Stars (Raw) vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno, American Alpha, The Usos, The Hype Bros. and Breezango (Smackdown)

What I Want To Happen: Lets be honest, this match is basically a group of solid wrestlers from Raw vs. Smackdown presents: Gimmick Central. There will be no shortage of action outside of the ring, but Raw's Roster is stronger and deserves the win.

What I Think Will Happen:
In an effort to build momentum for their lacking brand, Smackdown will probably pull off a victory with the comical charge of Slater and Rhyno leading the way.

Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax and Alicia Fox (Raw) vs. Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Naomi (Smackdown)

What I Want To Happen: It goes without saying (but I'm saying it anyway), I've been a huge fan of the women's revolution, but they just haven't established enough talent to fully support two separate rosters or this match. With so much rivalry within each team, this could easily be a hot mess. I would love to see some of these newer women prove their worth.

What I Think Will Happen: This match needs to be action-packed to retain the masses attention. Unfortunately, the same couple dominant wrestlers will be forced to carry the match and leave us with a predictable feeling.

Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman (Raw) vs. AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and Shane McMahon (Smackdown).

What I Want To Happen:
I am undeniably Team Smackdown for this match. Orton, Ambrose and Wyatt have been 3 of my favorite singles wrestlers since before the brand split. I hope turmoil  within team Raw (perhaps a JeriKO breakup or former shield members brawl) leads Smackdown to a much needed win.

Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg

What I Want To Happen:
Someone needs to put Brock Lesnar in his place. I'm a firm believer that Lesnar went rogue and forced the victory over Undertaker to 'beat the streak', but I'll refrain from ranting more about that conspiracy theory here. Regardless, Goldberg's return needs and deserves to be glorious. I can't handle another Lesnar takedown.

What I Think Will Happen:
I don't imagine Goldberg agreed to return merely to fall at the hands of Lesnar so I imagine he'll come away the victor. Either way, I'm sure the WWE has made it a point to ensure that they put on a better showing than their previous flop of a bout at Wrestlemania 20.

HELL IN A CELL: What Should Happen vs. What Will Happen

Sunday, Oct, 30 2016

Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado and Sin Cara vs. Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari

What I Want to Happen: This is a hard match to, well, care about. Its a 6-man tag team match with no storyline. Sure there are commonalities amongst some teammates, but why are you fighting to begin with?! If forced to prefer an outcome, I’ve never been much of a Luche Libre fan so Nese, Gulak and Daivari for the pointless win.

What I Think Will Happen: We know the cruiserweights are great at delivering action-packed, fast-paced matches, but I really don’t think the outcome of this match matters, at all.

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke

What I Want to Happen: Bayley is brimming with positivity and much like the New Day, its just not my speed. I’d love to give Bayley a big hug…a tight one…right around the neck! Dana should have no problem power-bombing Bayley into oblivion. Now that Dana is developing her character too, this win could help give her a real push.

What I Think Will Happen: Much like her wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men, Bayley never seems to stay down. Much to my dismay, it seems the WWE’s little ray of sunshine will pull off another victory over Dana.

Enzo & Big Cass vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

What I Want to Happen: Enzo and Big Cass are easily my favorite tag-team in the WWE right now and clearly it’s not just me. The ENTIRE crowd shouted their intro (myself included, albeit at hmoe to the tv) when Gallows and Anderson cut their mic. Now that is saying something! Listen to the universe and give them the win.

What I Think Will Happen: Both teams are talented, but have been left just outside of the title’s reach. A win here would be huge momentum for either tag-team, but I think Gallows and Anderson will take this match. They might fade with another loss, whereas Enzo and Big Cass will still have a huge following behind them ‘and you can’t teach that!’

T.J. Perkins (C) vs. Brian Kendrick

What I Want to Happen: I finally caught up on the cruiserweight action, aren’t you proud of me?! I can’t get enough of the Wizard of Odd. There is some great talent in this division, but character and storyline are just as important for me and I love Brian Kendrick. I’d love to see the title over his shoulder.

What I Think Will Happen: Maybe it’s just me being upset that my favorites aren’t on top, but it seems like when a new(er) wrestler has a strong following the WWE lets them ride that popularity and uses the title to boost another superstar. Not to say that T.J. doesn’t have a fan base, but the title serves more of a purpose for him, while Kendrick can just stay weird and thrive. Not to mention, moving the title this soon seems lateral. T.J. will retain his championship.

The New Day (C) vs Cesaro & Sheamus

What I Want to Happen: We all know how I feel about The New Day (boooo!), but outside of that even, can we just acknowledge the genius that is Mick Foley?! The pairing of Cesaro and Sheamus has been fantastic! I’ve been in the Cesaro Section since day one, but the fact that I’m rooting for Sheamus, is unheard of. It’s time to put some fresh faces behind those titles. Besides, the dynamic between Cesaro and Sheamus while reigning as champions would make for great tv!

What I Think Will Happen: Considering The New Day is on their way to beating every tag-team record ever, it’s an easy match to predict. The New Day wins. *insert eye-roll here*

Roman Reigns (C) vs Rusev

What I Want to Happen: Not since the days of The Shield have I been a Roman Reigns fan. He is making it harder and harder to think I ever will be again either. I don’t know if a steel cage is going to help distract from his mediocre moves or make his shortcomings more apparent. I do, however, look forward to seeing what destruction Rusev has in store for Reigns. I know he won’t, but what a place for Rusev to reclaim his championship?!

What I Think Will Happen: I feel like this match is just going to dilute some of the suspense and excitment of the two headlining matches still to follow. That being said, I’m sure the WWE will hold the title with Reigns now that they’ve found a tolerable spot for him on the roster.

Kevin Owens (C) vs Seth Rollins

What I Want to Happen: This match should be nothing short of incredible and I’m genuinely torn. There is nothing I love more than a good ol’ fashion heel and with Jericho by his side Kevin Owens is serving the Universal Title proud. On the other hand, Seth has managed to keep a sharp, witty heel-like vibe while carrying a face role. While they both stack up in the talent department, I may have to side wit Seth Rollins on this one. The Shield may be gone, but I can relive their glory through Seth FREAKING Rollins.

What I Think Will Happen: Quite simply, Seth deserves the title, but I still think with such a quick move the day after its inaugural match, its probably best to let the title resinate with one wrestler for awhile. Kevin Owens will come out on top and with Jericho proudly by his side!

Sasha Banks (C) vs. Charlotte

What I Want to Happen: The fact that this match is the main event of the night is a testament in itself. This will be the final nail in the coffin of the lingerie, pillow-fight ‘diva’ days. The women are finally being taken seriously and I couldn’t be happier! There are no two better women to mark this moment in history either. It doesn’t matter who wins, the match itself is the biggest win of the night (if not the entire year)!

What I Think Will Happen: The belt has been doing a lot of back and forth and if the WWE wants us to take the Women’s Division as seriously as they have introduced it, they need to let everyone see that the belt is worth something. Sasha needs to continue her reign and show that the title is a hard fought award, not just a community prize won at the drop of hat. A long reign will help solidify the Women’s Division.

NO MERCY: What Should Happen vs. What Will Happen

Sunday, Oct, 9 2016

Jack Swagger vs. Baron Corbin

What I Want to Happen: Although, I miss Zeb Colter, who doesn't love America?! Hopefully, neither of them are handed a microphone and Swagger pulls off a quick win.

What I Think will Happen: Both superstars seem to be wallowing in the mid-card wayside. Being a newer talent out of NXT Baron will probably come off with the win.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

What I Want to Happen: The Bella shtick has always been 'hot twins.' Not that I was a fan before, but with only one Bella present, Nikki falls especially flat for me. Carmella's NXT relationship with Enzo and Big Cass is an instant over for me. I'd like to see Carmella win and for her heel turn to stay on the rise.

What I Think will Happen: After what most thought was a career ending injury, Nikki has returned. The WWE will most likely reward her hard work and dedication on the road to recovery with a 'W' this go around. SMACKDOWN

Becky Lynch (C) vs. Alexa Bliss

What I Want to Happen: The shallow women's roster has proven to be an obstacle resulting in the weak booking between these two. Alexa is nowhere near the caliber of wrestler deserving of a title shot. Becky will destroy Alexa and retain her much deserved title.

What I Think will Happen: Becky Lynch has been through the ringer on her way to the title. There is no way the WWE will roll the title over to a rookie. P.S. who thought it was a good idea to book two women's matches in a row?!!

Heath Slater & Rhyno (C) vs. The Usos

What I Want to Happen: The Usos recent heel turn has rekindled a dwindling fandom in me. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the heels?! I expect that Rhyno's presence in the WWE isn't a tenured one and losing the belts would make for an easy departure after a highlighted return.

What I Think will Happen: However, I don't think Rhyno's return has quite reached its peak. I expect him and Slater to defend the belts a few more times in their trademark odd couple fashion.

The Miz (C) vs. Dolph Ziggler

What I Want to Happen: Dolph Ziggler has put his career on the line. If he doesn't win this, a huge talent is being lost. I refuse to accept anything but an end to The Miz's reign as intercontinental champion.
What I Think will Happen: There has been a lot of talk about Dolph retiring from the limelight and focusing on behind the scenes work. The WWE has pushed Ziggler so many times to no avail. I worry this will truly be his demise and just another checkmark on Miz's 'awesome' card.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

What I Want to Happen: As much as I enjoy drooling over Randy Orton a win is of little importance. Bray Wyatt is the new era's Undertaker. What a better way to start your reign than defeating the Apex Predator? The Wyatt family deserves a 'The New Day' style run on Smackdown.

What I Think will Happen: It is seemingly impossible for Bray to come up with a win. Even with a previously canceled pay-per-view match against Orton, Bray was forced to take a loss against part-timer Kane. They passed on the opportunity for Bray Wyatt a self proclaimed god to beat a demon (Kane). There seems little hope for Bray. Plus, two pay-per-view defeats in a row probably isn't in Orton's plans.

AJ Styles (C) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena

What I Want to Happen: I will always be team Ambrose, but they watered down his character so much that his reign as champion fell short. Ideally, Styles remains champion and we get to see the Lunatic Fringe rise to the times of stealing belts and taunting champions.

What I Think will Happen: I'm not prepared for John Cena to sit amongst the likes of Ric Flair. Cena is an incredible talent and has given above and beyond, but c'mon?! It's the Nature Boy! WOO! He should rest in infamy untouched. Whether it be today or rather a joint franchise pay-per-view, it seems inevitable Cena will be rewarded for his contributions to the WWE.
