Iggy Pop, Alabama Shakes jam with Patti Smith at Tibet House Benefit Concert
The 2017 Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert took place Wednesday night at New York City's Carnegie Hall, and featured performances from Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and Alabama Shakes, as well as a few memorable collaborations.
At the show's end, Smith led a group performance of her song "People Have the Power." Also during the night, Pop jammed with New Order, and Alabama Shakes was joined by renowned composer Philip Glass, who curated the concert's lineup.
The annual concert raises money Tibet House U.S., a non-profit organization founded in 1987 at the request of the Dalai Lama to preserve Tibetan culture.
