Funeral for Chris Cornell to be held Friday

Late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will be laid to rest Friday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, his attorney told Variety on Sunday. Cornell will be buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.  A public memorial may be be held at some future time, but the attorney said that nothing had been decided on that score yet.Cornell died Wednesday after a Soundgarden show in Detroit. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the cause of death was suicide by hanging, but Cornell's widow has suggested that prescription anti-anxiety medication may have contributed to his death. U2 pays tribute to Chris Cornell at Rose Bowl

U2 paid tribute to the late Chris Cornell, who died this past week of an apparent suicide, during their concert Saturday night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. The band dedicated the Joshua Tree track "Running to Stand Still," which is about drug addiction, to the late Soundgarden frontman, according to Variety.  "For the lion that was Chris Cornell, we send a prayer to his lioness,” said Bono. First round of "Billboard" Music Award winners announced: Drake, Chainsmokers, Twenty One Pilots, Beyonce & more

Because there are so many categories for tonight's Billboard Music Awards, the bulk of the winners will not be announced on the air.  Instead, they were announced earlier today, and so far, Drake is the big winner: he has already won 10 awards of of a possible 22.  If he wins three more trophies on the air tonight, he'll have broken the all-time record for most BBMA wins in a single evening.   Other big winners so far include Beyonce, who has five, Twenty One Pilots with four and The Chainsmokers with three. Arrest this man: Radiohead's "OK Computer" turns 20 today

Twenty years ago today, the world was introduced to OK Computer. Radiohead's seminal 1997 album first arrived in Japan on May 21, 1997. It would later be released in their native U.K. in June and then in the United States in July. Coming off the band's more rock-driven album The Bends, which in turn was the sophomore follow-up to their debut Pablo Honey, OK Computer found Radiohead experimenting with more layered electronic sounds. Blink-182 shares acoustic version of "Bored to Death"

The deluxe edition of Blink-182's comeback album California is released today, and the collection includes an acoustic rendition of the original album's lead single, "Bored to Death." You can download the unplugged track now via iTunes. Along with the acoustic "Bored to Death," the deluxe California album also features 10 bonus tracks, including "Parking Lot," "Misery" and "6/8." Imagine Dragons will honor Chris Cornell at Sunday night's "Billboard" Music Awards

The legacy of Chris Cornell will be recognized at this weekend's Billboard Music Awards. According to the rep for the show, Imagine Dragons will be "honoring" the late Soundgarden frontman prior to their own performance during the ceremony.
